Shwezigon Pagoda is a 11th century shrine home to Buddha’s relics, situated in Nyaung U near Bagan in Myanmar.

Explore this expansive complex adorned with gilded features, statues of mythical creatures, and several artifacts. An important religious site in the Bagan region, this is ideal for people-watching, especially during festivals and celebrations.

Thadingyut Festival aka Lighting Festival of Myanmar is celebrated on the full moon day of the seventh month in the Burmese lunar calendar.

Spread across three days, you can see locals decked up in festive attire and light thousands of lamps to illuminate houses, shops, and pagodas all over Bagan.
