Episode 060: Nathalie Johnston | Founder & Curator of Myanm/art, & Member of Pyinsa Rasa

Nathalie Johnston is the founder and curator of Myanm/art. She’s also the member of a Yangon based art collective called Pyinsa Rasa. She has created other art projects such as 7000 Padauk, and Myanmar Art Resource Center & Archive (MARCA).

Listen to her journey from growing up around Asian influences and studying art, to now offering a platform for contemporary art and encouraging avant-garde artists in Myanmar. When not researching happenings in the arts and crafts, you can find her savoring craft beers while working on her book on Southeast Asian art.

Myanm/art is an art gallery and exhibition space in downtown Yangon that showcases and promotes contemporary art of Myanmar. It also hosts art exhibits and performances across various mediums including poetry readings, music concerts, installations and more.
